In Diane’s Clinic the major emphasis of her care is in general practice. Diane utilizes her 20 years of experience in western medicine and her TCM training to examine the emotional, spiritual and physical aspect of your life. For example: What are the things that are keeping you from being healthy/balanced? Overwork, unhappy relationships, wrong foods, irregular sleep patterns or simply not enough sleep? These are all factors which can affect your health. Depending on the condition of your body you may or may not have the ability to adapt to these variations.
If body mind and spirit are not one, it creates disease.
“Disease is like confusion and Chaos”
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is based on a broader perspective of the body's health status. Diane’s practice incorporates both Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture. TCM is rooted in nature and philosophy; we look at not just your physical but your emotional and spiritual environments. Our goal is to attain balance and harmony within the body based on the theory of Yin and Yang in the unity of opposites.
The tools used by an acupuncturist differ from western medicine. TCM takes a holistic approach, applying treatment according to the differentiation of syndrome complexes (much like the differential diagnosis used in western medicine). The emphasis is on interconnectedness and change.
When a patient comes to the Clinic with a headache we look at the patient as a whole and not just as having an isolated symptom. We investigate the root cause and treat it according to its unique pattern. Every treatment is tailored for each patient and all factors are considered.
Chinese Medicine was developed thousands of years ago when western medicine was not available. Acupuncture is used for almost any health concern today. The dis-eases of today are as common as thousands of years ago. Over the last thousands of years the Chinese learned how to treat dis-eases with herbs and acupuncture before diagnostic techniques were even developed. Diane’s goal is to combine the knowledge of Eastern medicine as well as Western medicine in a holistic environment to give you the best of both worlds.

"Three years ago I was officially diagnosed with Graves Disease. While I had hyperthyroid symptoms on and off since 1996 they became very severe in 2003.
"My blood labs were as follows: T-4 14.8, T-3 <0.01. My blood Pressure was 194/95 my heart rate was about 120 most of the time, it got as high as 160 with atrial fibrillation. I also had severe anxiety. The doctors told me I needed to have my thyroid destroyed with radio-active iodine or risk a heart attack or stroke. I agreed that my outlook was not good, but I didn’t like what I had read about destroying the Thyroid gland so I decided to try acupuncture.
"When I first met with Dr. Diane Cridennda she told me that she couldn’t promise that she could cure me but that she knew she could help me to feel better. With in 4 months both by T-3 and T-4 were normal and within a year my TSH was in the normal range.
"Dr. Diane gave me my life back, and for that I will always be grateful. My blood labs remain normal and I am now working on improving my diet to insure optimal health.
"Thank you Dr. Diane for giving me hope when no one else would"

"Seven years ago I first decided to try acupuncture/ Chinese Medicine to help with some infertility issues. I found East Winds Acupuncture in the Phone book and when to see Dr. Diane Cridennda. I decided to let go of my western mind and give these foreign ideas a chance, and I figured that after all, medicine that’s been around for 5,000 years has to have something going right?
"I hate needles. I always cried when I had to get a shot, even as an adult and probably would still cry to this day. I can’t say I enjoy having the acupuncture needles put in, but I definitely enjoy the results I get when the treatment is done. The discomfort is over pretty quickly and I have had great results from many different treatments.
"Over the past 7 years I have had three children and almost no colds. I usually try acupuncture and/or Chinese medicine as my first resort for anything that ails me. The best part about it is that there are no adverse side effects and the treatments go after the root cause of the problem – not just the symptoms like western medicine does. We had to use IVF to get pregnant both times and the acupuncture was a wonderful compliment to having the IVF treatments work and to support me during my pregnancies. My second pregnancy was with twins and I was put on bed rest at 28 weeks to prevent preterm labor. I immediately contacted Dr. Diane to start weekly treatments to prevent preterm labor and I carried the twins to 38 weeks and a scheduled C-Section.
"When I walk into Dr. Diane’s office, I immediately relax and start to feel better. I know she will care about my problem, take the time to understand it, and do everything she can to treat me. She has always helped me manage my health in a holistic way – I have learned a lot about nutrition and a healthy lifestyle from her that compliments the Chinese approach to medicine. The best way to avoid problems is to prevent them from occurring in the first place.
"I have referred many people to Dr. Diane over the years, and some of them have had a quick and impacting results and some of them found that acupuncture wasn’t for them. No one I spoke with ever regretted giving it a try. I believe that it is certainly worth a shot, and I feel very empowered and in control of my own health by having access to Chinese Medicine."

"I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis 7 years ago and was on Prednisone for 5 months after the diagnosis. Each flare up after that I was also put on Prednisone, though never as much as the first time. I was never the best about taking my medication, which probably caused them to come more frequently. This past summer when I felt a flare up coming on, I was told about acupuncture and Diane Cridennda. I thought “Well, I might as well give it a try”. I knew from the start that I have a chronic disease and it will never really go away. I have now made it through tow flares with no medication (preventive or otherwise) and could not be happier. I no longer worry about how all of the medication is affecting me, no longer get mandatory blood work done every three months, and no longer deal with the side effects of Prednisone. I am 100% satisfied with my results."

Diane helped me get rid of the pain from spinal degeneration
Radiculopathy
Like many medical conditions, I had never heard of this one until I developed it myself. Apparently, age-related spinal degeneration or possibly some trauma which I could not identify caused some encroachment of nerve roots in my lower cervical spine area (C6 and C7). The pain in my back and down my arm into my hand increased from a very slight tingling sensation in my left arm, fingers and thumb to a late night trip to an emergency room where even a morphine drip could not alleviate the pain which was 8 or 9 out of a maximum 10. My Doctors diagnosed me with Radiculopathy and prescribed Percocet, Methocarbamol, and Naproxen. They prescribe Lidoderm Patch, and Methyl Prednisolone. These medications lowered the pain level to a 3 or 4 but after about 6 weeks I was becoming concerned about side effects, so with the knowledge of my physician I began seeing an Acupuncturist. I am a very active guy spending most mornings at the gym. My arm was beginning to lose muscle mass from lack of enervation to the muscles and inability to work out.
After several acupuncture treatments the Pain levels began diminishing. Diane recommended that I continue her treatment combined with that of a Chiropractor who specializes in Active Release Techniques (ART). This combination seemed to be the winning combination. There is no question that the medications helped to lower the pain level, but it wasn’t until I received acupuncture and chiropractic ART treatments that the pain disappeared. I should also mention that throughout this period (about three months) I continued with an exercise routine, with the knowledge of all of my medical practitioners, and being very careful not to aggravate my condition. There is no question in my mind that acupuncture and “active release technique” saved me from costly possible spinal surgery. I should also mention that I kept my neurosurgeon fully informed on these techniques and he was fully supportive! Radiculopathy. I hope that it doesn’t recur. But if it does my first appointment will be with my Diane my acupuncturist.

INSOMNIA, ENERGY, AGGITATION
Dear Dr. Diane
I just wanted to say thank you for the tremendous help you have been to my son Ryan. He had been having trouble falling asleep at night and when he finally did, he could not wake up in the morning. It took our whole family to try to wake him up. He would talk to us but fall right back asleep then would miss work or at best be late. I made a list of specialists I wanted him to see and started calling - you were the first to call back and get him in, thank God. We noticed a huge difference after the first treatment and use of the herbs you recommended. He actually made it to work all week for the first time in ages. He didn't think the herbs were going to help but took them anyway and fell asleep quickly - slept through the night and was able to wake up the next day much easier and had a fair amount of energy. The same thing happened the next night to our amazement. He was more alert, less agitated around people and able to hold a conversation longer. We met with a doctor two weeks later to run tests to see if anything else was wrong. The doctor laughed at us telling us this was normal - a way of life. He said Ryan just didn't want to work or get up. He told us that holistic care would not help, has no proven track record and that we were just looking for excuses. He gave us no hope. So glad we saw you first because we may have given up. We told the doctor how you had already helped us, thanked him for his time and left. We have since found out that the car accident he was involved in, years before, had been a large part of the problem. Acupuncture, herbs and your caring way of help has set him on the road to healing.
Thank you!
Cathy

I suffer from Osteoarthritis and Fibromyalgia. I have had both of these diseases for over 15 years and I am currently 43. Western medication over a period of five years put me body into several other medical problems: irritable bowel syndrome, constant yeast infections, bladder infections, and no tolerance for wheat or yeast or processed foods.
Over the past ten years, I have seen Dr. Cridennda for many related issues. My arthritis doctor in March of 2010 suggested from my blood work that I was developing RA. Thankfully-I only have the antigens for this disease as well as Lupus, but stress and lack of exercise and poor diet could contribute to me developing this as I get older. Dr. Cridennda has helped me keep these diseases at bay for now and I have felt an 80% improvement in my pain levels since targeting these problems with acupuncture.
My dosage of pain killers has been cut in half and I am able to continue what I love-teaching golf as an LPGA Golf Professional as well as my active lifestyle of skiing, hiking and biking.
Thank you Dr. Diane,
Kelly Hodge-LPGA Golf Professional
